Seattle Neighborhood Greenways welcomed Blake Trask as our January 10th meetup speaker. Blake is the chair of the Seattle Bike Advisory Board (SBAB) and is the Statewide Policy Director of the Bicycle Alliance of Washington (BAW).

In this presentation, Blake walks through the context for Seattle’s current (2007) Bicycle Master Plan: who was involved in it? What was the vision? What were the biggest challenges? And how can Neighborhood Greenways be incorporated into the 2012 update to the Bicycle Master Plan?

At our January 2012 Seattle Neighborhood Greenways meetup, Seattle City Councilmember Sally Bagshaw announced plans for our City’s first 7 funded miles of Neighborhood Greenways. Thank you Councilmember Bagshaw for your leadership, your community partnership, and for keeping Seattle at the forefront of sustainability and livability!

On September 22nd, 2011, we had the privilege of welcoming Greg Raisman & Mark Lear — the “dynamic duo” behind Portland’s phenomenally successfully Neighborhood Greenways program — to Seattle. Their lecture offered rich details of how and why Portland is improving pedestrian, bicycle and motorist safety, with Neighborhood Greenways as one of their tools.
